Updates: Empty Fists, Perrita Perdida, Divine Interference, and More!

February 12, 2012

The leisurely pace at which I (Van) update this blog is rather comical, I know, but I have some old and new news to share.

I guess I'll start with the really old news.

Jason's film Empty Fists will henceforth be called "Jason's award winning film Empty Fists." Yup, you heard that right. Empty Fists won "Best Film" at the 2011 Canton Film Festival! Congrats to Jason and his team.

I'll move on to the somewhat old news.

Jason started production in Nicaragua on a new film tentatively entitled "Perrita Perdida." I hardly speak spanish but I've been told this translates to "Lost Dog." I think it might be about a lost dog.

Moving to current events…

In case you never saw it at the screening or elsewhere, I've uploaded my senior thesis film Divine Interference in it's entirety. You can also read the screenplay online now.

Finally, you should check out my friend/enemy's short film The Signature. I shot and edited it.

Divine Interference, Van's senior project

April 26, 2011

About a month ago, I (Van) completed work on my senior thesis project, a short film called Divine Interference. Well, suffice to say production was rushed and I wasn't happy with the film.

After four weeks of tweaks and a brand new original score from my frenemy Aaron Moore, we've finished the film for real.

I'm submitting it to some festivals, so it won't be uploaded until a few more months, but I'd cut a short trailer and created a new page for it. Enjoy.

Remodeling

April 25, 2011

After a multi-week site outage, which I'm sure nobody one noticed but me, Two Cut Films is back online.

Basically, it's the same but more spiffy.

I'm pretty sure it works in all major browsers, but there are bugs to be ironed out for sure (You're tearing me apart Firefox 4!).

More cool stuff will be added shortly, stay tuned!

FRESAS Wins Best Screenplay at the CUNUFF

April 12, 2010

Over the weekend Jason's new film FRESAS screened at the Columbia University National Undergraduate Film Festival (say that five times fast) and won Best Screenplay in the competition. Congratulations to what I will now refer to as the "Fresas Dream Team," scribes Jason Outenreath, Josh Lamstein, & Francisco Gonzalez, and really to the entire cast and crew.

Website Updates

April 11, 2010

I know it seems like we update the design of the site more than we make films but… well… yeah. More films are coming soon.

Notable features include:

  • New sorting tools on Works page (Now with 100% more ajax goodness!)
  • Quicktime/Flash switch-able video (On our newer HD films only)
  • New social network thingies: Twitter and Vimeo

There's a bunch of other tweaks, but those are the tent-pole features.

Any-who, Jason just wrapped principal photography on his new film, EMPTY HANDED FISTS, so that film should be finished in a month or so.
