Updates, small and big
September 30, 2007
Some updates:
- Complete backend overhaul (The entire site is now managed by Wordpress)
- Videos now play in house (They used to run off Blip.tv)
- Now works (with varying degrees of success) in IE6
Then there are the minor things that took me hours to do but which no one cares about:
- Background no longer looks like crap (It used to have lots of banding). Okay, a minor issue, but it took a long time to solve m’okay?
- Menu now highlights selected items correctly
- Color change from Sapphire (#339) to Azure (#369)
Just when I thought I done, IE6 pulled me back in

I spent the last week or so revamping the site. You know, bringing it into the 21st century. Web 2.0, or whatever the hip kids call it these days. I added some nice semi-transparency. Removed borders, added more negative space. And when I was done, I took a step back and admired my work. I even had a lovely beverage ready.
Just when I thought I done, IE6 pulled me back in.
So, I was at my cousins’ house this weekend. While “fixing” her computer, which as an aside basically consists of me uninstalling expired trial software and installing free or open-source alternatives (Goodbye Reel Player, hello VLC), I noticed she still had Internet Explorer 6 installed. I thought I might see how badly it rendered TwoCutFilms.com before I replaced it with version 7.
Well, it turns out that this site is completely unreadable in IE6. Without getting too technical, IE6 apparently hates transparent PNG’s.
It’s back to the drawing board.
